Vivienne Westwood

Today I've decided to write about something a little different. I'm not a guy who would normally dress in very smart high-end designer wear, but the spring/summer 2010 line from Vivienne Westwood has surprisingly caught my attention with a couple of really nice, more casual items.

Vivienne Westwood, 69, is a British fashion designer who is attributed the responsibility for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions to a more mainstream audience. She is renowned and revered worldwide, with flagship stores in Paris, Sydney, Berlin, Milan, Tokyo, Osaka, Moscow, Gothenburg, London, Manchester, New York and Chicago. Her legendary status in the fashion world is assured, and she as thrice been named British fashion designer of the year (1990, 1991 and 2006).

Her designs are known for being outrageous and outlandish, and it is this that has pushed me away from previous lines in the past. These sorts of designs are still very prominent in the spring/summer 2010 line, however these are balanced out by some smart/casual designs which are brilliantly made. Below are my favourite designs of the SS10 line, and as you can probably tell I'm a huge fan of Westwood's polo t-shirt design. The polo's are a perfect slim-fit, with added length to accentuate the fitting of the shirt, as well as a three-button collar and also white, red and grey trim on different coloured shirts to nicely finish off the design. To browse these items online and to look through more of the SS10 collection visit http://www.viviennewestwood.com/flash.php. You can also visit the Vivienne Westwood flagship stores in London (44 Conduit Street, Mayfair, London) and Manchester (47 Spring Gardens, King Street, Manchester).
