Nike really have been getting a lot of joy out of their classic Blazer High trainers in recent months. It was just a few weeks ago that I wrote about the release of the Nike Blazer High Vintage collection, and now Nike have released a line of Nike Blazer Highs which celebrate this year's World Cup in South Africa.
The Nike Blazer High template has been adopted for this special edition world cup line, with the canvas of the trainer featuring artwork from underground artists who have designed trainers according to their nationality. The nations selected to be included in the collection are England (artwork by Jamie Jarvis), South Africa (Artwork by Kronk), USA (Artwork by Mr. Cartoon), France (So Me) and the Netherlands (Artwork by Delta).
These trainers have been released in limited numbers, with 500 of each pair released worldwide. This Blazer High collection is customisable (you can select the graphic of your choice, colour of the canvas/laces and also add your own personal id) on the Nikeid website, with the canvas of the trainer being full-grain leather as well as the classic Blazer feature of the rubber outsole. To find these items I would recommend that you look at http://nikeid.nike.com/nikeid/index.jsp#home, or visit the Nike Town flagship store in London (236 Oxford Street, London).
